Global Health Care Group is looking for a Registered Nurse to provide services at the Medical/Surgical Department at the Nebraska/Western Iowa Health Care System, located in Omaha, Nebraska.
Available Position: Registered Nurse â€" Medical/Surgery (10 positions available)
Work to be performed at:
The Nebraska/Western Iowa Health Care System (NWIHCS) 4101 Woolworth Avenue Omaha, NE 68105
Work Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours per week. Must be willing to work 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts. Willing to rotate shifts and work a rotation to weekends. Must be willing to float between all med/surg areas.
Description of Services (includes but it is not limited to):
Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care. Must be able to interpret cardiac rhythms. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care based on age-specific components. Responsible for the coordination of care focused on patient transition through the continuum of care, patient and family education, patient self-management after discharge, and supporting factors that impact customer satisfaction. Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. Core elements of performance include knowledge of unit/program level quality improvement processes and initiatives as well as customer service programs.
Period of Performance: Six (6) months (120 days) base period and it may be extended for three additional years upon acceptable performance and all necessary state reviews and approvals.
Position Requirements/Qualifications:
License: Must have and maintain an active, unrestricted RN license in the state of Nebraska. Board certification from a VA-approved certifying body is preferred.
Education: Must have a graduated an accredited school of nursing.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) BLS and ACLS required.
Experience: Must have a minimum of 3 years acute (hospital) Med/Surg experience.
Language Skills: Must speak English proficiently.
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen or a US Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
