Will work three 12 hour shifts weekly. This position falls under the PACU/Ambulatory surgery/Holding Room areas with in Surgical Services. The shifts will be varied from 5:30 am through 7:00 am varied day shifts depending upon the surgical schedule. Call is mandatory for PACU. Under general supervision, plans, directs, and evaluates total nursing care and functions in one unit on a particular shift, in accordance with established philosophy. Relates effectively with other shifts for continuity of care; maintains satisfactory relations with other departments; participates in all phases of education, maintenance of records and upgrading of policies, procedures and skills. Under direction, provides direct nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process, performs technical nursing functions and upholds the standard of practice of a professional nurse in care for adolescent through geriatric patients. Current RN license required.
