Operations Director-Cardiovascular Surgery
Works collaboratively to develop plans, goals, and implementation strategies in support of the Alegent Mission, Vision, and business objectives.
Provides support, interacts, and serves as a clinical resource to patient care staff. Maintains clinical competency. Functions as a resource for policy and procedure interpretation. Utilizes age appropriate patient care interventions.
Assures appropriate level of understanding, awareness and compliance with all applicable JCAHO, federal, state and agency laws, regulations, guidelines and professional standards.
Along with department Operations Director, charge nurses and staff, coordinates work efforts on a daily basis.
Conducts interviews of applicants and makes recommendations for hire; coaches employees on performance issues.
Experience Preferred:
A minimum of 3 years of operating room experience with progressive leadership responsibility. At least one year of management experience preferred.
Educational/ Licensure:
A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in nursing is required.
RN License required in Nebraska or Iowa, Nebraska and Iowa are compact states so license must be obtained in the state you reside.
BLS or BLS instructor certification is required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following: American Red Cross: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, American Safety and Health Institute: CPR, PRO, must say Professional Level-with AED, and American Heart Association: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.

Must possess strong knowledge of various facets of nursing; strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and professional standards; strong project management skills; good communication skills; good strategic planning skills; strong change management skills; must demonstrate personal traits of a high level of motivation; team orientation; professionalism; trust; and place a high value on treating others with dignity and respect.
