POSITION OBJECTIVE : The Manager of Business Analytics conducts data mining and provides business analytics reporting to the operations team and key stakeholders. This po! sition interacts with the regional operations team, clients, outside vendors, and Health Inventures corporate personnel to perform in depth analysis of costs, assists with reimbursement maximization strategies, and provides data analysis to drive key business initiatives. Additionally, the position assists in process improvement efforts, technical issue problem solving, and overall strategy development in order to meet or exceed each facility's business plan and/or operational budgetary activities.The position supports the operations team in ensuring that highest quality of patient care standards are met consistent with AAAHC and The Joint Commission regulations in an efficient and cost effective manner. Meets or exceeds the expectations of the client within the surgery center andsurgical hospital network.
Interfaces with operations team, health system partners, physician owners, facility personnel, Health System's Finance Departments, and HI corporate personnel, t! o perform Business Analytics including, but not limited to: Ov! ersight of the cost accounting and cost containment activities for the regional facilities;Provides cost analytics reporting (I.e., medical supply costs, purchased services analysis, productivity analysis, reviewing vendor contracts, etc.) to key stakeholders;Collects data on cost per case, by procedure and by physician to identify outliers & assists in product standardization by arranging and conducting physician and vendor interviews;Gain support from key stakeholders (I.e., physicians, facility administrators, materials managers, etc.) when embarking on a cost cutting initiatives;Provides data in order to effectively manage staff costs per case;Reimbursement analysis - assists in process improvement for medical record documentation (I.e., reviewing patient admission status, dictation, coding co-morbidities, etc.) in order maximizereimbursement;Assists in the creation of new business development (I.e., research and proforma development);Performs new service line & new pro! cedure Return On Investment analysis;Provides Utilization / Occupancy rate analysis to facility teams;Assists in the development/implementation of new Data Bases, Billing Systems and Business Intelligence Systems.Responsible for development and maintenance of project schedules and work plans;Delivers data analysis reporting in order to improve facility marketing plans, budgetary goals, productivity, andoverall processes to ensure an environment of effective decision-making, forecasting, and sound business/financial planning;Assists in preparing and utilizing various reports (I.e., CMS Cost Reports, Quarterly Balance Reports, NE DHHS Worker's Compensation Court Report, scorecards, etc.);Develops, utilize and maintain systems, primarily business intelligence systems, and tools provided by Health Inventures to achieve optimal operations performance results;Attends Operations team meetings and assures outcomes from the meetings are implemented and carried forward into strategic! direction and operations management;Assists with special projects and ! other duties as assigned;Represents and promotes HI role and value proposition to the client.Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited universityMBA or MHA or equivalent education preferredExperience: Position requires 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or related position. Experience to include financial and/or comparable business analytics. Healthcare experience is preferred;Experience in strategy development and physician relations to execute in a team environment is preferred;Lean Six Sigma training preferred.
