Working under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practitioner, performs a variety of duties to assist the surgic! al team by functioning as scrub team member in support of the Nursing Vision.
Essential Duties:
1. Provides technical assistance to surgical team during the peri-operative process.
2. Performs and ensures safe, knowledgeable age-specific patient care in a holistic manner.
3. Works collaboratively with other health team members to coordinate patient care needs.
4. Performs value-added activities that result in positive financial performance and customer satisfaction.
5. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Education:
Completion of a Surgical Technology program through an accredited school required or Certification within 6 months of hire.
Completion of Good Samaritan Hospital Medication Aide training for oxygen usage. Oxygen medication aide competency as defined by Good Samaritan Hospital.
Assistive responsibilities under direct supervision of surgeon, certificate on file p! referred.
Experience:
No previous experien! ce required.
License/Certification:
Certification as a Surgical Technology required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of employment.
