General Summary of Responsibilities: Surgical Services Department Duties include providing nursing care according to
Surgical Services Department Duties include providing nursing care according to the State Act for Nursing to patients in Surgery, Outpatient Surgery, Recovery Room and Endoscopic Room. This position also requires individual to share call for the areas involved. Must be able to work shifts during the day and take call. Excellent oral and written communication skills Prioritizes and organizes delivery of care- The Registered Nurse (RN) Coordinator has a vital role in providing clinical leadership for their respective shift and department. This position functions under the direction of the Department Manager and is accountable for the scope of the RN job descrip! tion, while additionally being accountable for coordination of! unit resources to ensure that staffing to census / acuity is appropriate both clinically and financially. The RN Coordinator is responsible for routine activities, including staffing, patient assignment, and delegating tasks. They work with other members of the interdisciplinary team to provide extraordinary care for patients, and responsibilities include assisting staff members with direct patient care, revising a plan of care as needed and mediating conflicts between staff, families, physicians and other departments. The RN Coord ensures that the care of the patient is in compliance with hospital policies and procedures, and legal and regulatory standards. This leadership role provides for personal growth and valuable experience while demonstrating excellent patient and customer service to those they serve.
Surgical Services Department Duties include providing nursing care according to the State Act for Nursing to patients in Surgery, Outpatient Surgery, Recovery Roo! m and Endoscopic Room. This position also requires individual to share call for the areas involved. Must be able to work shifts during the day and take call. Excellent oral and written communication skills Prioritizes and organizes delivery of care- Provides patient education - Delegates care as appropriate -Delivers hand off communication -Communicates with patients/families/other health care providers -Develops and delivers discharge planning information -Supervises other care givers -Delivers patient care with compassion utilizing critical thinking skills- Conducts, reports, and records patient evaluation -Care is provided to patients throughout the lifespan. This position also requires being able to stand on feet for long period.
Education: Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program
License/Certifications: Current R.N. license from the State of Nebraska, ACLS and BLS and Maintains licensure and appropriate certification(s) CNOR Preferre! d
