:
The Inpatient RN is responsible for the direct ! patient care of hospital inpatients, assuming primary responsibility and accountability for the delivery of all patient care, including care provided by those directly under his/her direction, such as the LPN, Patient Care Partner and any other non-licensed provider of care. May be assigned charge responsibilities. The Inpatient Nurse role consists of caring for patients in PCU, ICU, CCU or post heart surgery status.
New RN graduates will be required to work both day and night shifts throughout their orientation period. This is to allow for necessary professional development about the continuum of patient care at Nebraska Heart.
Essential Job Duties:
Works collaboratively with the physician and other members of the interdisciplinary team regarding the patient's plan of care. Maintains communication with the patient, family and care team.
Performs all patient care treatments and assessments which require RN licensure including observatio! n of the patients, documentation of significant conditions and! reactions and patient education.
Prepares patient supplies and aids physician during treatment and examination of patient.
Ensures the timely and accurate delivery of patient care by delegating tasks utilizing the appropriate standards of care based on diagnosis and age-specific needs.
Assumes responsibility for providing the patient a safe environment throughout their experience by adhering to all policies and procedures of the Nebraska Heart Hospital.
Evaluates patient and family needs, capabilities and readiness to learn and provides appropriate education based on identified needs and cultural considerations.
Actively pursues continued learning opportunities and self-development in areas that are relevant to their job duties and profession.
Participates as a team member and provides

Q! ualifications
Education / Licensure:
Graduate of an! approved RN program with a minimum of one year of experience preferred. Previous ICU/CCU experience preferred. Current state RN licensure required. ACLS and BLS certification may be required after employment commences.
