Medical Assistant for Orthopaedic Practice

Busy orthopaedic practice is looking for a Medical Assistant for our multi-physician office. Medical office experience is required or orthopaedic experience is a plus. Work responsibilities include both clinical and clerical duties. Candidates must be reliable, have a professional demeanor with a strong work ethic, and the ability to work well with others in a fast paced environment. POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Perform administrative and clinical duties under the direction of physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, collection of patient data, patient triage, data entry, and maintaining medical records in EMR system. Clinical duties may include taking and recording of vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, resolving patient issues, assisting with procedures, and medication preparation as directed by the physician.

  • Must be comfortable with computer systems and learning relevant software systems
  • Experience with Elec tronic Health Records and working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding helpful
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and radiology principles
  • Must have the ability to multi-task, be detail oriented, and efficient
  • Must have excellent communication /customer service skills

Other job duties as assigned.

JOB TYPE: Full-time

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High school diploma; Completion of Accredited Medical Assistant Program with CMA certification preferred or experience. Current CPR Certification.
