Or --would you rather watch all the surgeries being done by the established ophthalmologists while you are busy doing refractions and contact lenses? This practice is located in mid-western Nebraska just a quiet 3 1/2 hours from Denver and Omaha. We enjoy a well established and thriving and growing medical and surgical ophthalmology practice with a busy satellite clinic 30 miles away.
Our surgery is all performed at a physician/hospital owned ASC and at our satellite. Currently we do not do refractions and contact lenses but space is available to expand into that as well as into Lasix. A solo practice with a weekly †in office†retinal consultant and an increasing demand for medical and surgical services, we have a need for the right person to immediately take over all the surgery as well as to purchase the practice. Cataract, lid, and non-refractive laser procedures constitute the majority of our surgery; however, strabismus, lacrimal and glaucoma procedures are available as well.
Although we have no formal co-management agreements, our rapport with the Optometrists is excellent.The idyllic lifestyle and the ideal practice location will convince you that your choice was correct. The patient population is most appreciative of their medical providers. The cost of living is low compared to all urban standards and Nebraska has one of the lowest malpractice insurance rates in the country. North Platte's public and private school systems consistently graduate students who place well in colleges and universities throughout the country.
A community college furnishes graduate and vocational education locally. North Platte is a family centered community where children are able to walk and bicycle safely to school. An active community theater, community symphony and a community chorus are only several of the many available entertainment activities. A wonderful area for the sportsman and for outdoor recreation, Lake Maloney (7 miles south) provides excellent fishing, boating and living.
Many other lakes are within an hour's drive. Hunting for all types of game is abundant. Four golf courses are available locally with the world famous Sandhills Golf Club and the Dismal River Club just an hour away. A busy practice with room to grow without the big city hassles of HMO's and cutthroat competition.
