Ortho/Neuro is an 18-bed, newly remodeled unit with an on-site physical therapy gym. We specialize in the care of orthopedic surgery patients and neurology patients. Patient populations include: elective joint replacement, orthopedic trauma, elective spinal surgery, seizure/epilepsy, and post-stroke patients. We work in a multidisciplinary environment with specialty physicians, mid-level healthcare providers, social work, case management, physical therapy, and occupational therapy.
The staff nurse assumes principal responsibility for the total nursing care, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of each assigned patient. Initiates teaching and educates the patient and family or significant other to attain optimal health.
